Speaker & Bio

Karen Duncan
Karen currently works part-time for the Department of Human Resources Family Assistance Division as a Program Specialist for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). She returned to the agency after retiring with over 31 years with the State and has experience in Child Support, JOBS, Kin Share, and Public Assistance Programs. Karen’s varied experience in the county served as the springboard for her work with the Department of Human Resources. Karen’s extensive years of work as a case manager and supervisor also contributes greatly to her love of training. Karen obtained her bachelor’s in psychology from Auburn University and her most important accomplishment is she is the proud mom of twins who are pursuing their dreams – one who works with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the other who is completing her doctoral degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
